BURLISON BEARCRAFT: Welcome To The Burlison Bearcraft Blog! I was formally known as Burlison Bears. My name is Hayley Eliza Burlison and I am a teddy bear artist specializing in making primitive and antique style bears as well as miniature bears. All my bears are made in the old style as the original teddy bears of the early 1900s. I design my own patterns and I use components in my bears which were used in the traditional teddy bears of the past, such as mohair for the material, wool felt for the paw pads, glass eyes or shoe button eyes, cotter pin joints, and each bear is stuffed with sawdust or for the tiny ones (wood wool). I add weight to the bears tummies using steel grain. I stuff more loosely with my bears for an appearance of slumpy and frumpy. A nice slouched appearance. I typically distress my bears for the well-loved antique look. I sell on Pfatt Marketplace, Primitive Handmades Mercantile, tedsby.com as well as ebay.com. Thank you for stopping by.
